Daddy's trip to Maine

January. Zoos and Beaches

I took this from afar, standing on top of the cliff, guarding the stroller.

Thats the boys in the distance. The sand looks wet, but its actually just damp and shiny

the moon came out as the sun set.

Darkfall. This the the cliff I was standin on. The boys are scrambling up it on the dark side.

We tried to go to the SF Zoo before Charles left for Maine, but we got there as it was closing for the night. I wanted to see the Reindeer that were supposed to be there over December, but were supposedly held until January due to the Unfortunate Incident. When we got there, we asked some teenage employee if we can see the REindeer exhibit real quick and he said they left Dec.31. I believe he was lying just to get us to leave. The zoo website claimed they were there, as well as a little girl we ran into at the gate, of whom we had inquired directions. So, we left and went across the street to the Pacific Ocean beach, John's first trip to the ocean. It was too cold and nearing dark to really let John play on the beach. The storms were rolling in, and the waves were high. Charles and John climbed down the clif at the beach to get to the sand and water. The clif was weatherdamaged from the last weekend's storms, so it was a hard climb. Charles carried John along the beach at sunset, until it was finally dark and they scrambled back up and got in the car. John was upset at having to leave, and we had to stop at a Walgreens to buy milk and Reeses Pieces to quiet him down. He napped (for a long time) and we took the Golden Gate Bridge home.
